Communication Access Services

Our Communication Access Services (CAS) program supports making communication accessible. Services provided include certified sign language interpreters and Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART or live, human-generated captioning) to ensure Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind Coloradans can fully participate in everyday life

We oversee both Legal Communication Access Services (LCAS) and Rural Communication Access Services (RCAS). LCAS supports communication access in certain court and legal settings and RCAS connects community members in rural Colorado to qualified communication access providers.

System Engagement

System Engagement is the work we do with various communities, agencies, organizations and individuals that are interested in collaborating to elevate the priorities and needs of the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind communities. System Engagement includes work on existing projects, exploration of potential opportunities, and piloting initiatives. Some of our programs such as support service providers, Colorado Early Hearing Detection and Intervention, and Rural Communication Access Services started out as System Engagement projects!
